Though no doubt a landmark in mobile telephony history, the G1 very much represents a work in progress for Google’s ambitions in this arena. Its fantastic Android operating system is held back by clunky hardware and an unimpressive feature set.
For all its low-key exterior and modest features, the Nokia 6300 is a very popular phone. Ease-of-use, durability and superior battery life make it an excellent choice for those times when a phone is just a phone.
Some phones can be said to define the state of the art. Sadly, the C903 is not amongst them.

Another Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson, another gripe about the lack of a 3.5-mm headphone jack, another otherwise brilliant music player. This one, however, has a 5-megapixel camera and a pair of good-quality bundled headphones to tempt those looking towards Nokia’s Comes with Music-branded phones for their mobile music fix.
