The 3109 Classic is a low-key, unambitious sort of phone. It lacks most of the features we’ve come to see as standard these days, but through its clarity of purpose it finds real usability.
The 8800 Arte – and its almost-twin sister, the Arte Sapphire – deliver astounding build quality for an equally stunning price. Forking out hundreds of pounds (alongside contract fees) will not, however, secure top-end features alongside pure desirability.
Though far from indestructible, the Samsung Solid’s tough frame and useful SOS feature make it well-equipped for the more adventurous phone user. Unfortunately, its lack of all but the most basic features mean it won’t impress in civilian life.
